Team Howrey Exceeds its Goal of $10,000 for Race For the Cure!!

06/08/2009

Congratulations to Team Howrey who has exceeded its fundraising goal, of $10,000!!  In fact, not only have they exceeded their goal, Mindy Davis and Juliana Cofrancesco are among the top fundraisers for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.  Since they are still fundraising, the final total amount is not known at the moment but we do know that Howrey is normally a leader in all areas and Race For the Cure is no exception.

Team Howrey was relentless on their “Think Pink Day” on June 4th, Juliana and Mindy matched $1 each of every $5 donated by the firm if a staff member wore something pink on that day - yes, including men.  On June 5th, staff donated $5 to be able to wear jeans to work. Finally, also on June 5th, the group appealed to the appetites of all by hosting an ice cream social.

Up to 75 percent of the money raised by the Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure stays in the D.C. area to fund screening, treatment and education programs through the National Capital Area Grant Program. The remaining dollars support the Global Promise Fund, reaching underserved people in areas where breast cancer mortality rates are the highest.

Howrey’s team consists of: Juliana Cofrancesco, Thomas Agnello, Rose Arrington, Margaret Barr, Jan Brown, Sarah Cowan, Craig Cofrancesco, Lisa Cofrancesco, Keri Cupples, Mindy Davis, Tom Donahue, Rama Karipineni, Charlene Kim, Katie Knodt, Vivian Kuo, Emily Lesmes, Melissa Lesmes, Brian Malm, Chris Malm, Larry Malm, Samuel Malm, Christie Stahlke, Jessica Thompson, and Tom Wyckoff.

The team will join more than 50,000 people on the National Mall tomorrow, June 6, to take a stand in the global movement to end breast cancer.
