 In an awards ceremony held in London, Legal Business, one of Europe’s leading legal publications, judged that the work of Howrey’s competition lawyers in winning the Qualcomm case was the most impressive work in competition law in Europe last year. The criteria for the awards included the quality of the legal advice, its impact on the end result and the satisfaction of clients.

The A-List ranks firms nationwide by calculating scores in four specific categories: revenues per lawyer; pro bono hours and attorney participation in pro bono activities; associate satisfaction; and workplace diversity. Howrey ranked tied for nineteenth in this year’s ranking.

Howrey LLP has once again topped Global Competition Review’s “GCR 100” survey of the world’s most prominent antitrust/competition practices for 2008. The firm was recognized this year as the world’s largest competition practice. According to Global Competition Review, “Howrey once again boasts the world’s largest antitrust practice, a title it reclaimed from Freshfields last year. The US firm weighs in with over 300 competition specialists this year – almost double the size of the world’s fourth largest practice.” Howrey has topped this survey since GCR initiated it in 1999. |

Howrey nominated HVLP for the award after working hand-in-hand with the organization to assist with its on-going Hurricane Disaster Relief Program by staffing legal clinics and providing counsel to dislocated hurricane victims in the Houston area.
