Chambers Ranks Howrey’s IP Practice in Texas and Five of its Partners
07/23/2008
Howrey is pleased to announce that Chambers USA has ranked its Intellectual Property practice favorably in Texas, as well as five of its IP partners. The rankings stem from interviews with clients and peers who describe top lawyers and practices in the field. According to Chambers, Howrey’s reputation as a national IP powerhouse precedes it nearly everywhere it goes. Although a Houston-based group, much of its work is outside the state, with many cases being tried in California, Washington, DC and Europe. The “great group of attorneys” is principally focused on patent litigation and advises plaintiffs and defendants from the chemicals, biotech and oil field services industries. IP partner Susan Knoll reaped high commendation from clients and peers: “Respondents cannot heap enough praise on the ‘incredibly incisive and bright’” Susan Knoll, whose ‘tremendous grasp of the law and of science’ makes her ‘an awesome trial lawyer - absolutely the best.’” Research found that John Norris is well-regarded by clients as he was lauded for being a “very experienced and intelligent senior litigator.” The “diligent and reasonable” Floyd Nation, as one client stated, spends his time in patent litigation and jury trials. “Singled out as ‘probably one of the best IP attorneys the state has seen,’ John Lynch continues to act as principal litigation counsel for one client and to advise on selected matters as an expert litigator and arbitrator.” John Keville ranked in the “Up and Coming” category of Chambers research. Clients rated him as being “unbelievably talented” whose talents promise to “make him a real superstar in the future.” Howrey has one of the leading Intellectual Property practices in Houston and around the globe. The IP practice and the lawyers who make up the practice have been recognized as leaders in the field for almost half a century.
