“Howrey is set to boost its London arm with the hire of a competition partner from US rival Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, with the New York leader also seeing a capital markets partner depart for an in-house role.”
“Shaun Goodman will join the top 50 US law firm next month (1 March) as the second full-time partner in Howrey’s London antitrust group, which is led by partner Tom McQuail.”
Goodman practices European Commission and UK competition law covering competition litigation, merger control, intellectual property (IP), restrictive practices, market dominance and cartel investigations.
Howrey antitrust co-chair and European competition group head Trevor Soames (BR) commented: ‘Shaun Goodman is an outstanding competition lawyer who is very smart and very experienced. We have been seeking to further develop our London skill set in the competition law area.’”
“He added: ‘It was always our intention to have a larger antitrust practice in London but we have a very high level of entry and as such we passed on a number of opportunities.’”
“Goodman said: ‘As competition law practice becomes increasingly contentious, Howrey’s global strengths in both antitrust and litigation make it uniquely well-placed to advise.’”
