Howrey Lawyers Elevated to ABA Chairmanships

Jerrold Ganzfried of the firm’s Washington office has been elected Chair-elect of the ABA’s Council of Appellate Lawyers and Mary Craig Calkins of the firm’s Los Angeles office becomes Committee Co-Chair for the ABA Section of Litigation Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee.

Mr. Ganzfried is a co-founder of the Council, the only nationwide bench-bar organization devoted to appellate courts and practice. In addition to programs, presentations and publications that the Council sponsors, the Council's leadership participates at the highest levels in the work of the ABA's Judicial Division and its Appellate Judges Conference.  Mr. Ganzfried, Chair of Howrey’s Appellate Practice,  recently achieved the additional honor of being inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers.

Mary Craig Calkins was named Committee Co-Chair for the ABA Section of Litigation Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee, a national group she has served for years. Ms. Calkins was recognized as one of "California’s Top Women Litigators" by the Los Angeles/San Francisco Daily Journal in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and by Business Insurance as a “Woman to Watch” in 2007. She represents policyholders seeking coverage for complex business disputes.
