Howrey Hosts Lawyers from Public Law Center of Orange County

The Irvine office of Howrey LLP will be hosting attorneys from the Public Law Center of Orange County in an effort to help that organization accommodate the increased numbers of attorney volunteering at PLC as a result of the challenging economic environment.

Three, experienced PLC staff attorneys will each spend one day a week working out of an office in Howrey's Irvine office in order to free up more office space for volunteer attorneys at the PLC office in Santa Ana.  Howrey will “hotel” these PLC attorneys by providing an office, telephone, internet access and conference services. Howrey has a long-standing relationship with the Public Law Center, having been named their Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year in 2009 and 2005. 

Roman Darmer, a partner in Howrey’s Irvine office and a member of PLC’s Board of Directors since 2003 stated, “Howrey is a long time supporter of the mission of PLC to provide critical legal services to those most in need in Orange County and is delighted to be able to support the PLC in this new connection since the efforts of the PLC staff to vet and work up cases before they can be assigned to a volunteer attorney is critical to meeting the increased need in our community."
