Hard line against cartels yields assent for the EU

The record of Neelie Kroes is ambivalent.  But apart from some minor corrections her successor will set for a similar course.  The new Commission is an intensively discussed topic these days. The present Competition Commissioner Neelie Kroes moves to the directorate for the 'digital agenda', the Spanish representative Joaquin Almunia shall be in charge of competition policy now. A good time to take stock in the area of competition, with quite ambivalent results.
