Eric Fingerhut has been practicing all aspects of trademark law since 1990. He helps protect the identities and reputations of many of the world's best-known brands in the automotive, clothing, food, hospitality and technology industries in the manufacturing and retail sectors.
Mr. Fingerhut's experience encompasses the full range of trademark services, including brand availability and registerability opinions; design, implementation and execution of trademark procurement, protection and enforcement programs; and managing extensive domestic and foreign trademark registration portfolios. Mr. Fingerhut brings a creative approach to trademark disputes and has negotiated countless settlement agreements. When necessary, he litigates trademark infringement and unfair competition cases, including registration proceedings before the US Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. One of Mr. Fingerhut's specialties is combating trademark misuse on the Internet.
Mr. Fingerhut is a frequent speaker and author on trademark and brand identity issues, particularly those involving the food, beverage and restaurant industries, luxury brands and the interplay of trademarks and the Internet.
Mr. Fingerhut's professional memberships include the International Trademark Association (INTA) and the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington. Mr. Fingerhut is a former Chair of the District of Columbia Bar Intellectual Property Law Section Steering Committee and past Chair of the DC Bar Council on Sections.
