Julian Joshua is a Partner in the Antitrust practice group of Howrey's Brussels office. His practice focuses on international contentious antitrust investigations, advocacy before the European Commission, follow-on civil litigation and European and global competition issues. The leader on the European side of Howrey's dedicated Transatlantic Cartel Team (TACT), he specialises in the strategic response to global antitrust investigations by multiple enforcement authorities. Nominated in the GCR 100 as "a leader in the field of cartels work," he currently represents large multinational clients in both worldwide and European investigations. Besides defending clients in contentious matters, he offers counsel at boardroom level on the corporate governance and risk management implications of involvement in potential violations.

During a 27-year career in the European Commission's Competition Directorate, he led many successful investigations into Europe-wide price-fixing conspiracies in major industries and was the architect of the Commission's investigation and enforcement mechanisms in complex cartel cases.

The co-author of a seminal work on cartels, he has also produced many articles and commentaries on defense strategy in cartel cases and international enforcement. He is a frequent speaker at antitrust law programmes and serves on a number of international consultative bodies. He is also an Honorary Visiting Professor to the City University in London.
